Many People have been getting the compliance letters .They get worried as to what they need to do .Simply put, it is a way of the income tax department letting the tax payer know that they have not received the return for a certain assessment year and would be wanting to know the reason as to why the tax payer has not filed the return of income
It can be because the income is below threshold limit , it can be because the business ceases to exist , or it can be that the taxpayer is preparing the return , or it can very well be that the taxpayer is no longer alive , but the department has to know th reason for the non filing of return
